Bellevue's McDonough Earns Medalist Honors at PLU Invitational

GIG HARBOR, Wash. - In her first collegiate competition, Bellevue freshman golfer Hadley McDonough earned medalist honors at the Point Loma Invitational on Sep. 30. 

McDonough had two strong rounds capped by an impressive second round score of 77, the best round of any women's golfer during the event. She won the event by six strokes with a two-round score of 161, besting a field of 30 golfers that included competitors from NCAA Division III's Puget Sound, Linfield and Point Loma. 

Overall as a team, Bellevue took fifth place with a total team score of +130, 16 strokes behind first place Puget Sound. Linfield took third, followed by fellow NWAC teams Columbia Basin (+158) and South Puget Sound (+205). Centralia also took part on the women's side with three individuals, but did not have a team score. 

CBC's McKenzie Stanley tied for third overall individually with a two-round score of 169. Bellevue's Ava Guthrie placed fifth at 174 and Columbia Basin's Riley Larsen tied for seventh at 177. 

On the men's side, Bellevue placed third overall out of 13 teams with a two-round score of 588, shooting +12 as a team, ahead of NCAA Division III programs such as Linfield, Whitworth, George Fox and Puget Sound. Columbia Basin placed seventh with a team score of 608.

The Hawk's Jake Raymond was the top NWAC competitor as he shot 2-under par for a two-round score of 142 to placed fourth out of 67 competitors. Bellevue's Kai Lambro was just behind in forth place at 1-under par, 143.
