Bellevue Uses Strong First Round to Win First Spring Men's Golf League Match at Bandon Dunes

BANDON, Ore. - The Bellevue men's golf team used an impressive first round to propel them to a nine-stroke victory at the first NWAC league match of the spring at Bandon Dunes Golf Course, hosted by Southwestern Oregon.

The Bulldogs shot +26 over the two rounds, besting second place Skagit Valley by nine strokes. They started with an impressive first round score of +1 to lead by 13 strokes after the first day. The Bulldogs were led by medalist Kai Lambro who shot 144, even par for the two rounds. He had the best single-round score of the tournament in his first round, shooting 70, 2-under par before a second round score of 74. He had the best score in both rounds, winning by five strokes.

Bellevue also had two more golfers in the top-five as Isaac Elaimy tied for second with a score of 149. Elaimy had the second best round of the tournament as he shot 71, 1-under par in the first round, just one stroke behind Lambro. Bellevue's Henry Mills placed fifth with a two-round score of 149, 9-over par. 

Skagit Valley placed second as a team at +35, led by Logan Medcalf who tied for second with a score of 149. Austin Lindquist also had a strong day, finishing in a four-way tie for sixth at +10. 

Spokane finished third at +37 as they were led by Curtis Seidel, who also tied for second at 149. Dylan Morris tied for sixth for the Sasquatch at +10. Columbia Basin took fourth place as a team at +58, followed by Olympic in fifth (+76), South Puget Sound in sixth (+78), Blue Mountain in seventh (+85), Highline in eighth (+94) and SW Oregon in ninth (+98).

After two of four league matches, the first coming during the fall, Bellevue jumps to first place with 14.5 points. Spokane is just behind with 14 points, followed by Skagit Valley in third with 13.5 points and Columbia Basin in fourth with nine points.

The next league match will be next week on April 19-20 at Tumwater Valley Golf Course, hosted by South Puget Sound.
